Welcome | QR Info

Here is some information regarding QR codes:

What is a QR code?

A QR Code is a matrix code (or two-dimensional bar code) created by Japanese corporation Denso-Wave in 1994. The "QR" is derived from "Quick Response", as the creator intended the code to allow its contents to be decoded at high speed.

QR Codes are very common in Japan, where they are currently the most popular type of two dimensional codes. Moreover, most current Japanese mobile phones can read this code with their camera. The use of QR codes in the UK is set to grow rapidly from 2010 onwards.

Print2web?

How could you use QR codes to benefit your business?

Instead of web2print, why not get involved in print2web? Why not share the technology with you clients by offering to print QR codes onto their printed media, linking their customers back to a direct mobile phone site, giving instant access to information. Not only will they need a print job from you, they may also require a mobile friendly microsite which you could design and build yourself or outsource.

Why not be extra clever and rather than just offer PURLs, offer QR PURLs with personalised QR codes leading to personalised web pages.

Also on simple business card jobs, why not offer QR codes to a personal details web page?

QR codes are not new, but most phones do not have barcode readers. This is now changing rapidly. It is the early adopters that will thrive!
